What you are buying

A service: continuous monitoring of a visa application centre's appointment calendar on a route you specify, and completion of the booking if an appointment becomes available.

You are not buying an appointment, and appointments are not ours to sell. They are released by the consulate on its own schedule and are free to book through official channels.

What we cannot promise

That an appointment will appear. On some routes in some months, none do. We publish our own measurements so this is visible before you order rather than after.

That a visa will be granted. That decision belongs to the consulate and has nothing to do with us.

That a booked appointment cannot later be changed or cancelled by the centre. It can, and it does happen.

Payment

Payment is due after an appointment has been booked and confirmed, not before. If nothing is found, nothing is owed.

The consular fee and the application centre's service fee are separate, paid by you directly to the centre. We do not collect them and do not add to them.

What we need from you, and what we never ask for

Accurate applicant details, and the confirmation code the consulate sends to your email at the moment of booking — passed to us or entered by you.

We never ask for your VFS account password. If anyone claiming to be us asks for it, they are not us.

If the details you provide are wrong and the appointment is refused or voided at the centre because of it, that is not something we can undo.

Refunds

Because payment follows a confirmed booking, the common case for a refund — paying for a search that found nothing — cannot arise.

If we book an appointment that turns out to be unusable through our error, we refund the fee. If it becomes unusable through a change by the centre or the consulate, we will say so plainly and work out what is fair; we do not pretend to control that. Write to hello@standbyvisa.com.

Independence

This service is independent. It is not VFS Global, an embassy or a consulate, is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them, and does not act on their behalf. Names of countries and application centres are used only to describe which route a page is about.

Open points

[Legal entity and governing law to be confirmed before the service takes payments.] Until then these terms describe how the service actually operates, and will be updated with the formal details rather than replaced by them.
